Beef-Free Cat Foods

Beef is the most commonly documented food allergen in cats, involved in about 18% of recorded reactions, which surprises people because so few cat foods look like beef foods. That mismatch is exactly why a filtered list earns its keep: most feline beef exposure is hidden, arriving as beef liver, beef broth, beef tallow and beef by-products inside recipes named for poultry or fish.

The foods below are screened for beef in every form we track, including bovine plasma and bovine colostrum, the two cow-protein ingredients that name the species in Latin instead of saying beef.
