Why we built this
ItchyCody started as a grassroots project our family undertook for our two dogs, Cody and Sophie, both with significant food allergies. We wanted to understand what was in the food we were buying — what was making them itchy, what was safe, what the marketing copy on the bag actually meant.
We ended up cataloging more than 7,500 dog foods, cat foods and treats — every ingredient, every nutritional profile, every allergen risk we could source. We made the whole database free and searchable so other families dealing with sensitivities didn't have to start from scratch.
